Is it worth using Claude Code for my setup or will it cost too many tokens?

The Challenge

I've been dealing with this problem for years, and most of the advice out there is either too theoretical or just doesn't work in practice. Here's what I've actually found effective.

What I've Learned

Bonus prompt if you want to get Claude Code to do it:

1. **edit the prompt to suit your own setup** (OS, language, preference, etc.)**!** 2. enable plan mode (`SHIFT` \+ `Tab` twice) 3. `/init` or not to `/init` that is the question (I did) 4. paste that sucka in 5. confirm all the many `is it okay if Claude touches your files?` 6. ??? 7. No this meme doesn't work `/ignore`

Edit: be mindful this will use a **bunch** of tokens - **definitely don't do this if you're paying for the API directly**

Why This Actually Works

From experience, this approach is effective because it:

• Acknowledges the real constraints you're dealing with
• Gives you specific steps you can actually follow
• Has been tested in real situations (not just theory)
• Skips the generic advice that sounds good but doesn't help

When This Won't Work

**Real talk - this approach might not work if:**

• You're dealing with serious underlying issues that need professional help
• Your situation has constraints I haven't addressed
• You're looking for a magic solution that fixes everything instantly

The thing is, no single approach works for everyone. Take what's useful here and adapt it to your specific situation.
